Juvederm™, Restylane®, Perlane® & Radiesse® are
the new long-acting filler that are perfect for customizing and
enhancing
lip contours and smoothing lip wrinkles, as well as filling lipstick
lines and the corner creases of the mouth, creating a subtle upward
turn of your smile. In many cases, the injection of small doses
of Botox Cosmetic™ around the lips may enhance the effect
of these fillers. These products may be injected in a simple office
visit, using topical numbing gel and our Synercool® Chilling
device to aid in your comfort and reduce bruising. Swelling is
typically minimal, and lasts about 24 hours.
For those individuals
desiring a more permanent solution, lip implants may be the preferred
procedure for you. Advanta® is the latest
and most exciting permanent implant material. Advanta® is ideal
for enhancing the lips, giving them a fuller look, while keeping
their natural, soft feel and appearance. The procedure takes about
an hour, and is performed under mild sedation in our office. Healing
time is just a few days.
To further smooth your “lipstick” lines,
laser resurfacing around the lips may be combined with filler injections
or lip implants
